For sheer fucking build quality though, these old FD lenses with the the bare alloy locking ring are basically made of solid metal.
The 135mm has a buiilt-in retractable lens-hood that's made from machined metal. There's no reason for it to be machined metal, plastic would suit it just fine, but it is.
It's heavier than a full beer can.
