Unfortunately when shooting at events there's no mobility and a lot of factors aren't within your control, you're just a number to the cosplayers who have to entertain dozens of overzealous/creepy photographers. So I'm simply doing what makes me stand out from the rest.
A lot of photographers blow their hard earned coin on strobes, pavotubes, and lenses but don't use modifiers, situate their lights without any rhyme or reason, or even risk injury to themselves or others by using flimsy c-stands/not counter-weighing gobo arms. I try to point out the most glaring of mistakes but they come off as defensive or belligerent.
