>>3429207Rodinal (+ variants) is the typical starter developer, but the results are not always good. I recommend HC-110 as also mentioned by others here. The problem is that a bottle of it lasts very long (~10ml per film = 100 films per bottle) with very long shelf life. On one hand that's good and justifies the price per bottle, on the other hand you might find that you're not really into developing and still got a lot of that stuff around. Regarding fixer you cannot do anything wrong with any of the standard options. Personally, I use that Adox stuff because it works and is cheap.
