My preferred 500mm is the ZM-6A (basically an MTO)
I only ever pick the tamron 55BBN because it's smaller, lighter and slicker to focus.
The bowers are new knockoff productions of the old sigma 600mm/8 reflex, and inferior to the tamron/ZM
The russian lenses are also much easier to disassemble...and beat up.
