I need to have a main body that's super reliable, and a backup body for location shoots where I absolutely cannot afford to have an irretrievable fuckup. If you needed a super capable backup/2nd body then the D850 would be great. A D700 would be great if you want something you just don't ever have to worry about banging around, getting stolen, whatever. There's one on MPB for $250 that just needs some glue on the grips. Only 100k actuations too, they're good for at least 250k in my experience. I replaced the shutter on mine around 280k, and again around 700k.
Man, why did I sell the D700 again? What a great camera.
