>>3787614Mostly it's time of day. The light is so damned amazing before sunrise, with even tones and contrast throughout the scene and a warm to pink color palette. Also, when it comes to negatives, you totally have to do all the color correction during or after scanning. Whether you leave the job up to an automated thing (NLP or scanner software) or do it manually is up to you, but any automated software won't know what a sunrise looks like.
