>>4170477>>4170470>getting closei'm pretty green still but i suspect a lot of this comes from the nyc/tokyo dense urban style where getting within arm's reach of the subject with a wide angle is a reflection of how the city looks to a person walking in it, bumping elbows with people on all sides. i interpret that style as an expression of the experience seeing people from that perspective while living in that place. meanwhile in my neighborhood it's kinda rare to even be on the same side of the street as someone, much less get within a yard of them so that perspective doesn't reflect my setting very well,
of course that is just excuses and i admit i would get much better shots if i got closer. it's a tough habit to build since i never used to go outside and i actively avoided people when i did
