I dont linger, I dont fixate, I just take the photo and calmly walk away. ive only had one significant reaction, and it was a different crossing guard who smiled and asked for my instagram so that he could see the photo of himself. I personally think its weird to ask but once asked a street preacher because it really did seem rude in that moment to not ask. he said no; i just shouldnt have asked in the first place. better to ask for forgiveness than permission in street photography's case
