I'm a semi-experienced cinematographer that started on digital and want to learn more about film. Shooting motion on film is way outside my budget but I want to get a 35mm Camera and shoot photos with it.
What's /p/'s recommendation for something not too basic that's reasonably affordable but allows me to experience the process of using a microprism ring, turning the crank and developing photos etc?
I'm looking at the Minolta x700 (found one for $120AUD with a 50mm 1.7), but also interested in the Canon AE-1 as I have some FD lenses and some of my EF glass could potentially be adapted to it I think? Should I look at even older rangefinders?
I don't need a full pleb proof camera, I have a solid understanding of photography fundamentals and light.
Post some cool photos you shot on film I guess.
