the news is good, B&H is offering a full refund once the package is return to sender, and my bank confirmed that even if B&H wasn't cooperating that they would contest the charges themselves since merch was not received. as it stands i will likely opt for store credit and not take delivery, because this thread made me reconsider my purchase.
i'll be checking out all of the recommended gear in this thread in person once i go back to the store over the next week or so. i've decided i'm not going to do enough low light shooting to justify a FF and i'm just hoping to find an APS-C with badass enough autofocus to get action shots of birds and people. i'm mildly worried that i'll get shitty shots of animals at dusk and dawn but i'm prioritizing a hiking camera over that.
would like to add that i can't say enough about B&H customer service through this process and i'm horrified at the thought i would've gone through an online retailer and had to deal with this. i feel like i might not have been so lucky but i'm not sure.
and hopefully UPS finds the cunt who broke into my shit and hangs him by his goddamn nutsack. but props to the driver for pointing out it had been broken into. if i signed for that package my shit would have been WRECKED.
