Consider the 60mm Sigma Art f/2.8 if you want a cheap & very sharp lens for portraits. Pic related ~1:1 crop of bunny. [That lens is a really, really good deal at ~$150, despite being APS-C only, and having center-only PDAF support and no in-lens stabilization.]

One way to do this: Just add a layer, fill it with a single color or a gradient or whatever, blend it in the way you want with your photo, done. Wouldn't get a lens or even a color filter just for that.
