i dunno theres a bunch of things. but as soon as one company started doing it, the rest would have to, no one would want to let one company have killer media and everyone else look like trash. especially when it starts leading to faster sales (or sales over their rivals). but its all about competition so if they dont have like... big conventions where all the companies get together and can see each others media, where it would be super obvious and very stand out if one suddenly started using pro photos, there might not be that impetus to do it or get them taken.
Honestly I have no idea what the situation is in the UK for the aerials though... it may be a totally different game than here in the States... I can pretty much do whatever the hell I want, even if it gets the cops called on me.
