If the light is really poor, try for a faster lens. I've used a SamYang 85 f1.4 for gigs, as well as a FA 50 1.4. f2.8 or f4 zooms are also good. You have lots of options there from Pentax/Tamron/Sigma.
I'd also skip using spot metering and stick with centre-weighted. Spot metering can sometimes miss the mark, since the metering area is just 5% of the scene.
For the K-x, it's also probably a good idea to cap the auto-ISO ceiling at ISO 5000.
For gigs, unless there is a lot of movement, you can get by with 1/60 - 1/100, but 1/15 is really asking for trouble with motion blur, especially at 200mm. Get closer with a shorter lens, if you can.
