Ah here we go. Canon sensors may not be the best, but at least they don't compress RAW.

This is why I can't take the anyone seriously if they say they shoot with Sony.

(PS: Guy didn't say anything about video, which Magic Latern Canon does the best for your information ;^))

The lens is shit, you cannot deny that, and I never said anything about Sony being bad cameras, but between the shit AF especially in low-light, non-existent battery life, and limited lens selection (what's the point of a compact camera system if you're attaching a hueg DSLR lens with a an adapter and on top sacrificing AF and optical performance) I cannot recommend any Sony mirrorless system.

Wow.

You can put the best sensor in the world in your camera, but if you put a shit lens on the front, your photos will be shit. Always.

Canon beats sony mirrorless for video, also. And You can adapt lots of great cheap old lenses to EF as well. Less, sure, but still thousands of lenses... Not sure how that would be a problem.

AF should ALWAYS be the priority in any camera. Unless you want blurry and out of focused subjects.

I recently got into digital photography, and bought a Sony A7 because it can use the lenses off my Contax G2. Now everyone's saying Sony raw format is gimped, and the lens lineup is not coming through the way I'd hoped. Did I board a sinking ship?

Yes, if you expect DSLR level lmage quality and performance. Even more so if this is an original a7 and not the IBIS a7II.

That Sony RAW compression is just nasty. All to save 6MB per file and you lose more than 3 bits of dynamic range.

Don't be so absolute, because it's easy to dismiss you. Cameras were manual focus only for a hundred years and people did just fine. And people can do just fine now as well. But it's also a safe bet to assume most people looking to get into photography are interested in autofocus, so it shouldn't be written out of consideration so easily.

Wow, I suddenly realize that I'm a big sucker...

I can literally get on almost every guestlist of any festival/concert/nighclub now. Met a great dude (working on his website also).

And I haven't used that yet. This month I need to shoot at least 1 concert. Yes, that's my goal.

Forgot about this one, so I shot 2 concerts for fun.
