Resolution wise yes...there is a lot. But in my experience a Mamiya 7, which is said to have the best system lenses for MF film ever created, doesn't really resolve *that* much more detail than, say, a D810 (with the right lenses or reasonable sharpening), or a Sigma DP Merrill.
In terms of DR, I will admit film has great highlight roll-off. I have not, however, ever gotten reasonable shadow recovery from any film. Or at least, I've never been able to push it nearly as much as you can push info from the latest Sony sensors. Digital seems to have better shadow recovery than film, which has better highlight recovery than digital. But this to me means comparing the DR between the two is about pointless, when you have to expose differently on both mediums if you're trying to achieve the same image after post processing and printing.
