So the ME series was designed to "upgrade" cameras. For a long time they all were the same, and pentax wanted to add the ability to do things digitally. It has an interesting way of selecting your shutter speed and it is generally pretty accurate. After my Minolta x-700, it is probably my 2nd favorite 35mm camera.
As for the lens, that thing is a gem. Pentax in the film era were known for having outstanding lens quality which rivaled that of high end luxury cameras. The 1.2 and the 1.7 both, while preforming on outstanding levels, had minor problems that the 1.4 didnt seem to have. The SMC 50mm 1.4 pentax lenses are generally considered one of the best 50mm lenses you can buy up to the A series. I currently use mine on my pentax dslr and love it (wish it was FF)
I recommend either keeping it and shoot film, or sell it to make a profit.
