It seems that if you take a picture of a completely flat subject with the 35mm at f/1.4, the extreme corners of the in-focus area get some CA.
Yeah, as you've noticed, that never happens in the real world.
Sigma probably doesn't want to give off a false sense of sealing by adding the gasket, although I can agree that I would prefer it on there. Hell, I would prefer it completely sealed, but at less than 1/2 the price of the Canon, I can deal.
The distortion is real, and a shame. It's easily fixable when it does show up, but fixing it ruins some full res pixel level sharpness that you buy and art lens for. Big whoop.
I probably won't buy the shorter art lenses for myself to keep, but I may buy a 135 or 90 if they come out with it.
