>>2568298Get a holder from Better Scanning, scan at 4800dpi, and then down-sample your results to 3000 pixels on the long side, in 10% increments.
Use the levels adjustment in the software to be sure you're not clipping any blacks, and only clipping a little bit of the whites (i've found that you can clip a little bit on the histogram without actually clipping any information on the photo)
You'll end up with a really flat file, with lots of information, and you can punch it up in photoshop.
