FM2 only if you need more than 1/1000th second

FM viewfinder is glorious. Has an LED exposure meter.

Also has a pre-AI flip-tab like the FM2 so you can use pre-AI lenses. Remember to use stop-down metering on pre-AI lenses.

I love my FM and you can get them super cheap its basically a Nikkormat that shoots AI-s natively. Be careful with the motor drive on early variants of the FM it can jam.

John Goodman has a seal kit for it that's pretty nice.

What do you guys think about the Sony A6000 for a beginner?

The A5100 is even smaller. Same sensor, same mount.

But the 6000 has more traditional dials and is better for learning.
