Hey, so I've got a new job, and I'm looking to make some upgrades in my gear-- looking at a $1000 budget, give or take.
Right now, I've got a bunch of vintage nikkors (50/1.4, 28/2.8), a tokina 11-16, a t2i, and an eos m +22mm f/2. I'm where i want to be with all my auxillary gear-- have 4 led panel lights, fluid head monopod with tri-base, a good skater dolly + track, a good rails shoulder rig and FF, and a tascam dr-60D with 2 rode ntg2's. So really, at this point, camera body and lenses are where I need to be.
I'm thinking of selling the tokina for some extra cash, becasue I want to go all f-mount and manual (and only focus in one direction, accordingly). this leaves me with three options:
1: a 5dII on CL for 800 bucks, plus a 35mm f/2 nikkor for $150.
2: 85mm f/1.4 nikkor for $400, 35mm f/1.4 nikkor for $300, Rokinon 14mm f/2.8 for $300
3: 24-70 2.8L Mk I for $600, 85mm 1.4 for $400, keep the tokina
What are your thoughts-- is the 5DII gonna be a big enough upgrade for me that its worth it? I shoot a lot of concerts and nighttime outdoors narrative stuff. I'm also thinking of either saving up longer or doing adorama's monthly financing program to go for an a7s or c100.
