Also, what would you reccommend lighting wise, my main issue with lighting is portabality. But thanks for being helpful. I asked on some other forums and things, but everyone's advice seems to be raise my budget.

This might be pushing it advice-wise, but say you had £300, what would you get?
My initial thoughts were Canon 18-55mm lens and a 550D with a Zoom H4 recorder for sound, (I wanted a portable one because it has potential for podcast, interviews and vlog-type stuff.
Thats about £220 for the camera and £80 for sound, although advice seems to be I could realistically go cheaper on the camera and get some more varied equipment.
I know the sticky, so I will take everything with a pinch of salt.
