I was planning to crop it square, and hoped that shooting wide open would give enough subject separation to make it pop. I was also hoping for a little more saturation.
I was thinking "enigmatic monolith lurking in the grass".
Unfortunately even with a huge neg, f5.6 and Portra didn't do it for me. These things happen.
