Check out the springs in the north part of the state there's a shit ton of them and if you can get there before all the tourists and Mexicans shit the place up you can do some really good work. One thing I have done was wait until close when they kick everyone out and the sun is low enough for even lighting and no harsh shadows.
Pro-tip, bring a plastic bag with you, if you find yourself in an area in the springs where you aren't supposed to be and get caught, pick up some trash along the way and put it in the bag, I have used that trick a few times at Rock Springs in Apopka to get out of a bind with the police. And you will have my most sincere thanks for cleaning up my state.
Another thing to look for and I wished Alex had time when he was down here was the Florida Keys. There are tons of Caribbean island-scapes all over and lots of history I've lived there my whole life and will never get to shoot it all, but key points are Key Largo, Jewfish Creek, Islamorada, Matecumbe Bight, Pigeon Key, Knight's Key at the southern end of Seven Mile Bridge, Marathon, Bahia Honda and Key West. There's a lot of other keys I'm forgetting the names of but they have massive coquina rock outcroppings visible from the highway.
The only thing is, don't come down during tourist season and if you do be off the mainland by 9am or you'll never make Key West by sundown
