>>4352704Don't do something because other people are doing it, if you want to be an Ansel Adams then do it. Do it because YOU want to do it, stop giving a shit about what other people think. This thread alone has probably the same guy trolling me 4352938, 4353011 and I don't care he's a child with no life experience and probably still wets the bed, while adults are in here talking about real life shit. STOP GIVING A FUCK ABOUT WHAT OTHER PEOPLE THINK, FUCK EM
Stop giving a shit about how your work stacks up with others, do it because YOU want to do it, if you want dark skies and puffy white clouds then go on and channel your inner Adams/Butcher. If you want to take pictures of chicks with their tits out then wax Newton/Moriyama. Photography is not a low effort art, ask my fat ass when I summit Clingman's Dome with 50lb of camera shit if it's low effort, or that time I thought I was invincible and hiked Arches NP last year with COVID and a 104*F fever during August.
The merit of your art is not judged by the amount of effort put into it or how many social media likes or even if people here like it, just ask any Instagram e-thot who hit the genetics lottery about how much effort it takes to look pretty on a cell phone for simps. Some of my best work was done on a fucking D700 and the most effort I put into it was to make sure my model didn't drown or die.
Ask yourself this, WHY do you take pictures? Are you doing it for yourself or are you doing it to impress others, for social media likes and upboats, are you doing it to pad your ego or are you doing it because you genuinely enjoy it? Are you shooting exocentrically, for other people and strangers on the internet, or endocentrically, for yourself and personal enjoyment? Do you see this photo I did of San Rafael Reef and go "that's a nice shot" (it's probably shit but whatever) or do you think "other people on Facebook will love this"?
