Avid is only the main editing suite in hollywood because its the oldest and first. People who work in the film industry are stuck in their ways.
Premiere is the way to go. The entire Adobe CC suite is the way to go. Premiere acts as a hub to every other Adobe product. Send a file to After Effects/ Photoshop/ Speedgrade/ Story etc without rendering a file out, its all linked.
