Newfag here. What are some phones that are good at taking high quality pictures?
>pic related- phone I have now. 13MP back, 5MP front. Front camera is terrible, back camera seems good.

none. Phones are only good at taking mediocre quality pictures. Too bad the competition is so huge in mobile market that the manufacturer marketers are shitting all over your face with fake pictures and gimmick numbers. I just had to open the LG G4 brochure to see how much bullshit is written in there. Pic related. 99% of LG G4 buyers dont even know how aperture works so they buy that marketing shit.

The difference in a third of a stop is not that pronounced, and in addition, the camera would simply lengthen the shutter speed to get the same exposure, whether at 1.8. 1.9, or 2.0, resulting in the same image but at a very slightly longer shutter speed.

Which is why the f/2.0 image has motion blur.

Looks like motion blur to me.

Even so, the picture still demonstrates how aperture works and that a larger aperture will let in more light.
So the picture is not wrong.

And yes a camera can adjust the shutter speed to get the same exposure for each image, but that doesn't demonstrate how a larger aperture lets in more light.

I had no idea at the time that the Nokia Lumia 920 was the first smartphone with image stabilization.
Even though it has been quite some time from its release and the image quality is really terrible, I enjoy the experience of using a dedicated shutter button alongside Nokia's superb camera software for a phone (who would've thought? Manual focus on a phone!)

Look for OIS and a dedicated shutter button.
Aside from the very expensive phone-cameras, I think only Sony is pushing this on the Android side with their Xperia lineup.
