Is there actually a good reason most compact cameras don't export raw/tiff/bmp?

With phones it's probably due to using a generic camera app on many different sensors.

I don't see any reason for dedicated cameras other than to not "confuse" amateur users.

And there are a few phones that can shoot RAW now. The LG G4 out of the box can do it. I think my G3 can do it now. The only phone I'm really impressed by(now dslr level) but those nokia lumia phones are beasts for what they are.

I actually found my D3100 at a hotel with the kit lens, so it cost me nothing.

my main complaints would be Iso's above 800 are already too noisy and I can't use cheap russian lenses.

I'm ready to upgrade but I don't really have the money right now.
