>>2580596Not that guy but I feel this is something that needs to be underlined in the conversation. A lot of pros really don't know how exposure works. I have met people making money of photography that didn't know that to go up or down one stop you multiply/divide your shutter speed or ISO by 2, or your aperture by 1.4. Most people don't even know what one stop means actually. I don't really know why this is the case these days but 30 years ago this was the first thing i learned and pretty much everyone that shot in a professional manner back then knew this.
Regarding: "playing with the metering and compensation" is exactly the same as using shutter speed and aperture. I agree that once you understand exposure manual mode is actually faster, specially if you can configure your camera to work in the following way: one stop changes for ISO , i.e you can only change to 100,200,400 and etc. , half a stop for aperture and for shutter speed just leave it at a quarter of a stop changes. If you do this and realize that in most of the times you will need to only change one of these settings you will see that manual is actually faster.
