Is there something better than GIMP for Linux? I mainly just want some basic adjustment layers, masking and blend modes.

I have W7 on and ssd, and 32 gigs of ram. I am in no need for more performance, and have had no issues with stability, in the many years I've been running it. My average up time is like 2 months. And I only reboot for updates.

same here. Installed it when it first came and still running without problems. Don't know how 10 could be more stable. performance might be better but dunno, I'm a grown up now and cant really find the time to masturbate over some benchmarks that have neglible real world difference.

Actually, I have 2 laptops with W7pro and W8.1, I use both daily for 3 years, and I can tell you that 8.1 is more stable.
