>>2577366The build? Pretty simple, basically two boxes, really tightly nested so no light gets through, lens on one box, film on the other. I marked the top of the boxes with focal distance. I wanted simple, quick, light, rudimentary. Everything above is 4x5, exposed on RC paper, everything below this post is 8x10.
The shutters are the most complicated, but they are still pretty simple. One is a hand operated flap, one is a spring loaded curtain style, and one is a copal shutter in the lens.
The lenses used are in order of appearance:
Rodenstock 210mm 5.6
Handmade 70ish mm f/11ish
Handmade 80ish f/22ish
and a Wollensack 18" f/4 for the 8x10s
no rubber bands, no bitumen. Lots of matte photo black tape.
Also if you'll notice, the exposure is a little better on the following images. It's the difference between total studio control and shooting on the street.
