I would love to shoot some of this summers smaller techno and edm festivals, but I have no idea how to approach the organizers about it.
I'm about to start studying photography/photodesign this autumn, so I don't have a press accreditation or any contacts that would help me get into one of these. I have some reference pictures of gigs, however all of these are from metal shows.

Anyone got any tips for me or a story to share? My guess would be just to call the organizer, have a nice talk and hope for his generosity to let me shoot the event without any pay to help me out build my portfolio.
I wouldn't even dare to charge anything of course, would offer them the pictures for their free use and would even buy a ticket for the festival.
