>>2586294Might as well show my insta-observeation-spot. It's a small pop-up tent that I bought for $10 on a flea market, with the mosquito net in the window cut out and with a masking net thrown over it, so that animals can't see you moving through the window. I usually take this when I'm not using ghillie, or when there is couple of us and we want to set up a 'base camp'. The masking net is heavy, but as you can see in my ghillie picture, I use my friends to carry it ;)
Obviously both approaches have their pros and cons - in a ghillie you get mobility to change your vantage point and you get to sneak up on animals, while tent, if you have perfect spot that you never need to move from, gives you possibility to lean back in a portable chair, read a book, drink a water, scratch your ass, and do otherwise plenty things you can't do while pretending to be piece of grass in a ghillie. Also, if you have a good spot, the animals get accustomed to a tent eventually (though I still highly recommend masking it with bushes/branches that are lying around), so if you're on a couple days' long trip, you can just leave it on your photo spot and have the animals starting ignoring you totally.
