I'll be conducting an anthropological ethnography on gender identity in immigrant Indian women in Spain this summer and I want to incorporate visual analysis. What's the cheapest way to get a 6 or 7 D? I am a student, but I need my pictures to have a good mega-pixel ration as they may be printed. I have around 300 to spend right now.

7D has the same exact sensor as the Rebel series. Meaning the same number of megapixels for printing.

Also you won't look any better or more professional using a non Rabal camera. The reality is most idiots walking the street think a Rabal is a pro level camera and then the guy who actually knows better is going to see how much of a moron you look with a 7D shooting some indian.

I also see a 5D mk III listed for $720 on CL right now. That's a great fucking deal... would get it if I hadn't just bought a new 6D.

7d will be able to do a lot more than a 70d, let alone a rebel. My brother has the 70d and I've screwed around with it. Compared to the rebel, the picture quality, range of depth, versatility of the 70d is so much stronger. Yeah, I can get a rebel and stick a nice lens on it, yeah good photos are from good photographers, not cameras, but I want something I can really take advantage of. I work with fashion so I want a camera than can take portraits well, demonstrate fabric and color, but also take a crisp photo of a decent landscape as I am documenting lifestyle as well. I don't know shit about cameras, but I know the rebel altima to G7 or whatever the hell it is.

Uh based on what? The 7D, T3i, 60d, etc all same the same sensor and have basically no difference in image quality. The 70D actually would be better than all of them at least with noise - other image quality factors will essentially be the same.

Nothing you just said you're shooting will rely on anything the 7D has over the T3i.

Bought a 70D refurb from Canon for $700. Could have done a little bit better if I went with the new 70D + Pro 10 printer deal, but it requires a $350 mail-in rebate and then flipping the printer on Craigslist.

The 7D is $650 right now which I guess is decent?

Yeah, I have one of those and it is loud af. Not sure why it matters, though. Was pleasantly surprised by the speed and silence of STM lenses. Not getting a 70D because your brother has one is p. silly.

i sold my 7D/grip and 70-200 f/4L for like $850. 2.5 years ago i paid 1100 for just the body, 150 for the grip iirc.

7D values dropping like a rock but it's still a great body.
