>>2581128>implying what I said requires examples>>2581131If you say so, it seems like everyone fawns all over you every thread. It's just something I've noticed lately - extreme repetition in your work. That's fine if you are doing what you want, totally agree with you on that. Keep on trucking then. But personally I get really bummed by repetition (I've lived where I am now for 10 years and I need to go somewhere new, looking for a better job).
Selling photographs is tricky business, so I also certainly understand that aspect. I recently had a big gallery show that was a phenomenal success in terms of getting people in the gallery and eyes on the prints - but only 2 prints were sold. The issue is not the art, but the art buying people in this area. That is to say, there is none. Even the rich people are stingy and they'd rather throw $10k at the gallery to get their name on a plaque than $1k at the artist to help him recoup the cost of making it. Sad world.
I do really think though that if you can market your images to the right people, you could make a good amount on licensing. A friend of mine always buys these super kitschy landscape calendars and most of the images are similar in feel/color.
Regarding touristy stuff - it's possible not to be in a tourist area and still get postcard-y shots. I mean, how many shots of blue/magenta sand with a yellow/red sunset have you taken or seen?
