>>2584789It sounds like it was dropped, one of the internal screws got stripped out and is now loose inside getting stuck in places it shouldn't.
If it really wasn't dropped, send it in for a warranty repair. They'll either fix yours or replace it.
If it was send it in anyway. If it's fixable, hey, it's still cheaper than a new lens. If the cost of repair is too high, they'll send it back for free with a note saying "Beyond Economical Repair". I did that to my D800E last year.
