You can just use IR-filter. Check flickr for "infrared _nm" - different filters have own features (720mn is the most popular. 590nm for bright yellow trees and etc )
1) Just screw IR filter after focusing. This is slow and you need tripod - but this will work.Even in sunny day you need several minutes exposure because hot mirror is blocking almost all IR-light.

-There is focus shift in IR with different lens ( wide angle shifting more, but depends) - zero problem with 40mm stm. And you need to close aperture more. I don't have LW at 350d so i can't adjust it.

With 720nm and removed HM shutter time will be almost the same. With 760nm it's usually 1EV longer for me. IT's easy to shoot with hands, no need to use tripod.
