Hello guys, need some advice before entering a new system (fujifilm).
My only digital camera is the xe1 I picked a few days ago but I am having issues deciding on a lens.
For street I have been using small rangefinders with 35mm FL so I guess I'm covered in that front.
Now, with digital, I need a multi purpose lens for close up subjects in a studio and also full body shots of people.
Would love to have only one lens for most stuff at least until September when I receive a new paycheck.
Right now my budget is limited to 500bucks or so.
What I value more in a lens? Aperture ring, solid build and smallish size.
The 35 1.4 seems the obvious choice, but some people say its only ok. And i wonder if it's worth the price.
Also, most decent legacy lens are 50 and 35mm. So it coule be redundanct to get the 35 from fuji.
The 18-55 looks good but a bit too big and while decent across the frame it's not exceptoonal.
Would appreciate advice, especially from someone that used the 35mm already.
I tried the gear thread but no success.
