>>2592416>>2592416>I don't really see why everyone hates them so much. Here's why I hate mine:
#1: Sigma Photo Pro, and no Lightroom support. I mainly shoot with other cameras, all of which are supported with lightroom, and I have all of my photos in Lightroom, and my workflow is optimized around Lightroom. SPP crashes all the time, plus is shitty to use when it's not crashing, plus it doesn't has a proper Mac interface but some weird interface that looks like they used one of those shitty tools to convert their Windows app to a "cross-platform" app.
#2: Anything north of ISO 400 is unusable (and I'm a guy who frequently rocks a 25,600 on my main camera). At ISO 800 and above, it has worse noise than my cellphone at the same ISO. That's not hyperbole, that's a comparison I just did. And it's weird streaky noise with freaky colors. Doesn't even look good in black and white. Just ew.
#3: Doing anything on it is slow, because you have to dig through menus a lot. Wanna change ISO? Hit 'QS' for the Quick Settings button, then hit the Up button to access the ISO setting, then keep hitting Up to cycle through 'em. If you accidentally go past the ISO you want, don't hit the down button because that'll take you to changing your drive mode (similarly, if you accidentally scroll past the drive mode you want, you can't hit up to go back).
#4: AF is slow as shit. Sigma isn't a big enough company that they can devote the proper resources to making contrast-detect autofocus that isn't slow as shit, and neither can they add on-chip phase detect to a Foveon at this point or possibly ever.
#5: Slow point-and-shoot-like startup and shutdown times.
#6: Eats batteries relatively quickly, but that's not that big a problem for me because I always get too annoyed with actually using the camera before I finish off a charge.
