>>2595127Take this with a grain of salt, because I have only my own knowledge/experience and no frame of reference for comparison:
I wanted a tripod for my D3300. Everyone says to go spend money on a good one in the first place, rather than buying cheap first. So I decided to go get a reputable one that would give me room to grow (i.e. accomodate a big lens and a big flash)
Lots of people recommend cheap-but-good tripods from little-known Chinese brands. While I'm sure there's some great gems out there I didn't wanna get into it, partly because I don't want to take chances on the metal frame I put all my camera gear on, and partly because finding that sort of stuff in northern yuro is impossible
Ended up getting a Manfrotto MT055XPRO3. Which is a retarded name I have analyzed to believe indicates that it is a 3-sectioned aluminium tripod from their 055 series. 055 being their "cheapest pro series". I don't take such classifications too seriously tho
According to specs it'd handle all the gear I could imagine myself throwing at it, and was tall enough for a big alpha stud like me. The 190 series can still handle plenty of gear, but was too short. It is also lighter and allegedly less stable (while still being a good stable tripod)
The 055 is also available as a 3-sectioned or 4-sectioned carbon fiber unit. Given how more expensive CF is the choice was a no-brainer for a casual like me. That said, even if the weight difference is small on paper I suspect it makes a big difference, and I can definitely see it being worth it to some people
Lots of great buyer reviews for the tripod on webshops so I ended up ordering the ballhead kit
"I like it" is what I think of it, but as I said I have nothing to compare it to. Seeing as you're on a D7000 it's probably a good match, quality-wise. The 190 might've been better for me if not for its shortness. I'm still happy with it though, it's a very sturdy and reputable tripod I can sell in a month or 10 years if I want to
