Any idea how to edit photos shot against extremely bright light?

Tried an HDR in a cave today, never tried it before, and post processing it seems very tricky.

It depends, if you have any camera made in the last 2 years that is not m43 or a canon you expose for the highlight and raise the shadows. But ideally you do a bracketed shoot and use lightroom to create a HDR image.

Tried doing it in Lightroom CC. Marginally better, but I guess flash anon is right. Better go back there and try again with flash.
