>>2595816Yes (though I will say they have some [very rarely] good advice for the people just starting out, along with the old Indy Mogul videos)...
>>2595758>>2595752>>2595668Yeah, I'd say it's be best to correct in Davinci Resolve Lite - gives you all the tools (including LUT support) you could really need.
Everyone does have their own workflow as
>>2595758 said. I would look into Roundtripping workflows for your particular NLE/tastes.
You can throw an output LUT on your footage in Davinci if you're bothered by the look of the footage in the edit, but it usually doesn't bother me.
Speedgrade/Magic Bullet/Filmconvert don't really offer the level of control over the image that I prefer (also responsible for a lot of low-budget projects all looking exactly the same).
>>2595691>>2595692I personally prefer the second one, but neither are 'wrong'.
>>2595611Few options out there:
1) Custom Built PC [highest performance for lowest cost, but may disagree with ProRes Decoder/Encoder]
2) Hackintosh [High Performance+Low Cost+OSX]
3) Used Mac Pro Tower [2008 'eight core' or later will do] +Upgrades [High Performance+Moderate Cost]
Depends on what you can find for your budget, personally I like to edit on a Mac - but I acknowledge that the Hardware (especially on their newer machines) isn't upgrade-able for the most part (trashcans no - Towers yes [2008-2013]).
>>2595185>>2595273Quite a few unfortunately (some grip/key grip, 1st AC, Cam op & B-cam).
"Fix it in Prep" is the motto that I have grilled into my mind, and it pisses me off when people fail at prepping (75% of time on a project should be prepping it so that you don't waste time on set fixing problems that should be non-existent), it demoralizes the crew, makes you look+feel bad, and it massively wastes time+money. You can fix pretty much any issue in prep with the exception of Location/Weather Variables & Bad Luck (see: Lost in La Mancha).
