I'm new on /p/ and in just a few days I've seen some very negative comments about Pentax. Why is that? I thought Pentax was a respectable manufacturer.

You've not heard any negative Pentax comments here. Pentax is the official camera brand of /p. In fact the /p is short for /pentax.

Affordable. The Z has the same sensor that the Hassy and Mamiya digital backs have and the 645 lenses old and new offer all kinds of variety and sharpness. Add the image stabilization and you have a very capable camera for studio and nature/wildlife.
Don't tell me you don't want a stabilized MF camera for $3000.

in pure sensor size/resolution it's below the more expensive ones

on the other hand it's got the best af system out of all medium formats and other shit that increases its portability

and usable high-iso (though this is because the generation change from CCD to CMOS in digital MF sensors occured a lot later)
