I like the Fuji X Pro 1, pic related. The Nikon FM in silver looks really nice, but I don't think I'd want another silver body camera.

CCD colour was just getting good when everyone started screaming at manufacturers about muh high ISO. then everyone switched to CMOS and over saturated everything to make up for the shit DR.

I wish Fuji would bring back the Super CCD

I own a Praktina IIA, and as obscure as that thing is it had some god-tier budding-SLR-tech accesories. I wish I had at least some of'em. Pictured, bigger film spool, selenium lightmeter viewfinder and electric (!) film advance motor. This is some true pro press photography equipment for that day and age.

Silver makes me feel more self conscious than black. I like the way black wears in better too, the wear on my canonet and fuji x100 (both silver) don't look nice, but the wear on my Canon A1 does. The Nikon FM is one of the cameras that look better in silver in my opinion because of how simple it is. It's not a massive aversion to be fair, I still regularly shoot with silver cameras and I think they look nice, but ultimately I usually prefer black.

Phase and Blad, the only two companies who still care about DR and Colour are rocking CCD even though CMOS is cheaper.

Manufacturers went for CMOS because it was cheaper even though it was inferior at the time, but now after years and years of dumping all their R&D into CMOS over CCD, CMOS is now cheaper and superior to CCD.

It's the same shit that happened with CRT monitors. Sure they could theoretically be way better than what we have now, but everyone stopped developing CRT tech when something cheaper and more attractive to consumers came along even though it was technically inferior. And so now there's no reason to use CRTs because LCDs and OLEDs and all that shit are so much more common and are where the advances and improvements are being made.

Actually, CRTs are still far superior to any version of LCD monitor. The deal is that currently OLED and LCD are good enough not to deal with the hassle of CRT now (I still have a mammoth 21" Trinitron that has to weigh every bit of 75lbs and takes up most of a desk).
