>>2600878It has nothing with pro level gear, and everything to do with an obsession over things that don't matter. Weather sealing, .2 more stops of dynamic range, 3% better corner shaprness, enormous burst rates, etc.
If someone comes here saying they're going to start shooting fast paced sporting events in the rain, we're going to suggest them pro level equipment.
But what we get in stead is people looking to shoot their pets, shrubs, and fine china without leaving their house, who demand perfect MTF charts, a flawless AF system, the ability to never actually adjust their exposure triangle and still never have to deal with blown highlights or crushed shadows, etc.
People regularly look for equipment to improve their photography when gear is not what is limiting them in any way. THOSE are the people that get called out. And it's absolutely warranted.
It is a fact, pure and simple. If you spend $10,000 on a camera and a lens, and continue to lead your boring routine life, your photos will be MUCH worse than if you spend $2,000 on a "worse" camera and "worse" lenses, and spend the other $8,000 on plane tickets, or models, or actually living an interesting life.
