>>2601223>Have they always been like that and how that will affect their future.Yes.
I live in a country with a large (and influential) chinese diaspora. Many been here for centuries, other came due to all the shit china had to deal with going up to mao's takeover in 1949.
They brought with them old customs that the commies have tried to stamp out.
One such oddity is the occupation of a "face doctor".
When my father first came to this place in the 60's, there were still these guys about.
Basically, if a chinese had a business deal with you, there would be some other random chinese dude in the room, unacknowledge, out of the way and part of the scenery.
They would be sketching and your face and calculating all sorts of fengshui mumbo jumbo about it.
They were hired because it was believed that that facial features could tell about you not only your nature, but also your "fortunateness" or "luck levels".
Bad to do business with the unlucky.
It existed in the west, "physiognomy", but just like handwriting analysis it's obviously total bullshit.
Heck, it was known to be BS back in shakespeeare's time:
>"There’s no art>To find the mind’s construction in the face.I dunno whether that mirrorlessunemployable anon is in asia, but appearences, even the most superficial bullshit matters. Matters more than actual merit and performance in many cases.
That's why this part of the world is doomed to fail. All show, all smoke and mirrors with such lack of actual talent, and those with talent are overshadowed by everyone else trying to cheat the system (look at the chinese student cheating scandals: would you trust a doctor who got through medschool or an engineer's building if they both cheated their way through? Shit's gonna come crashing down soon enough for them).
I fully believe that mirror anon.
We are visual creatures, some more than others.
