>>2601417>>2601419>>2601421>>2601422>>2601424>Leaf shutters are better!Leaf shutters have more disadvantages than focal plane shutters do. Your maximun aperture is limited based on the shutter speed. The maximum shutter speed on the X100 is 1/4000. Thats fast for a leaf shutter, but still a stop short of 1/8000. Also, you cannot shoot at f/2 at 1/4000. Due to the design of a leaf shutter, the maximum shutter speed at f/2 is 1/1000. To get the full 1/4000, you must be at f/8 or smaller.
Thankfully, the X100 has a 3 stop ND filter built in, but that is still an annoyance compared to a focal plane shutter. You either have to menu dive to activate it, or use one of your function buttons for it. And the X100 isn't exactly littered with function buttons.

>>2601414Try shooting something relatively close to the lens at f/2. It will be soft. The X100/X100S/X100T all use the same lens, IIRC.
>EVF vs OVFWhile the battery savings is an advantage that I had not thought of, I find it to be mostly useless compared to the EVF. The EVF is so beautiful that you may as well use it to avoid having to look at the parallax lines. And the split window is just distracting, it seems.
X100 line not for me? Not at the current price and all the issues it has. If it were sharp at f/2, faster to focus, the EVF switched on faster, didn't get dust inside of it, and were priced more sanely, I would buy it up in a heartbeat. I've been looking for something small and fast to carry daily. Will probably end up with an LX100.
