Starting a tea blog and will need to take pictures. I had Powershot years ago, but I lost a lot of stuff over the course of a few moves and need another camera. I need to take close range pics and need something with good stabilization for shaky hands.

Since I'm in Canada and pretty limited as far as I know with selection, if anyone could pick one out here for me, I'd be grateful. Read the sticky, but I'm wondering if I should really go with another Powershot.

Do you realize how many people ask about first cameras? We usually have a thread specifically about that. If we don't have that, then use the gear thread. It's quite simple.

Hello Touhou guy.

Sorry about /p/. The vast majority is extremely rude.

Get a PowerShot G15 or G16. Also get a cheap tripod.

Set your ISO to its lowest native setting (80 on the G15 I think), set a self timer, and use the tripod. The camera will then take the best possible photo by doing a longer exposure. Since you are on a tripod, it will not be blurry, either.

If you want to save money, go with an S120 or S110. Don't bother with anything cheaper than those. You may as well use your smartphone at that point.
