18-55/3.5-5.6 WR: The kit lens. For what it is it's perfectly okay. You can also get a used copy in excellent condition for like 70 bucks. They made non-WR versions, so make sure you pick the right one.
18-50/4-5.6: The new kit lens. Comes with KS2s, also available separately for about $300. Similar "good but not exceptional" optics. Retractable so as to make it very tiny and kawaii when not in use.
18-135/3.5-5.6: Costs somewhere around $300, maybe rather less if Keh has a used one. Convenient focal length range. Has some CA problems and is not renowned for its sharpness. Words like "Adequate" and "Acceptable" come to mind.
16-85/3.5-5.6: Just released. Goes a bit wider than the other ones, if you're in to sweeping vistas. Much improved optical quality compared to the 18-135. Currently $650 on Amazon.
16-50/2.8: The DA* one. Made to be the crop equivalent of a "pro" 24-70. It's pretty nice and it opens wide, but it was famous for having focus-motor issues. Pretty sure that's now been fixed, though. Close to $800 new, under $600 used.
>Onii-chan! That isn't long enough for me!50-200/4-6.5: Cheap, cheap cheap! Under $100 used. Soft at the long end.
55-300/4-5.8: The old SMC version wasn't WR, you have to get the HD. Not bad at all for a consumer-grade tele-zoom. $400 new.
50-135/2.8: Like the 16-50 above, meant to be a crop version of a 70-200. Shares the same focus motor, with it's problems. Also $800ish new.
60-250/4: Widely considered to be very nice. Also widely considered to be pretty damn expensive, you'll be paying close to $1200 new, and still close to a grand used.
