There is a place in Austin called Holland Photo Imaging that still does dip and dunk for everything. 4x5 c41 and b&w is $2.75 per sheet and e6 is 3.75 I think. They have a price list on their site. I mail to them and they are pretty quick to dev and mail back. They have always done a good job in my experience.

i got stuck with a lot of old portra but im liking A LOT more what i get from fujis... portra has this pasty shit tones, while fuji gets straight to the point tonally.

I've found them to be quite different actually.
And very developer dependent.
This is HP5 in Tmax Dev, which is a combo I really like, especially for skin tones.
I think that this developer flattens out grain quite a bit.
But TriX in this dev turns to mud. Unsharp, terrible tonality.
I much prefer it with Rodinal. Quite grainy, but plenty sharp and lots of dynamic range.

Why they still use the mask on Ektar I don't really get, but it's not a big problem.
You can push and pull that film with your scanner it's so responsive - I got ISO 12 to ISO 800 with regular developing at 100

adjust it if there's something you don't like, there is no best.
start with playing with semi stand and constant agitation.
go into stronger mixes+shorter times and vice versa.

Pushing gives lots of contrast, but then shooting the Acros at box speed and using more dilute HC-110 gives a very different softer look but it keeps a little depth in the blacks and keeps it from being too flat.

Do you have any examples of this combo?
I have two rolls of Trix 400 to develop, and have Rodinal and Rollei Supergrain at hand, so unsure what to choose.

I have a bag of D-76 lying around somewhere, but it's such a hassle to mix it up, so I'd prefer to use the Rodinal if that would deliver decent results.
