I got bored of shooting buildings and landscapes and realized that taking pictures of people that are unawared is a lot more fun

Yeah OP, telephoto has it's place in street photography but shooting random people from far away isn't really in the spirit of street photography, and not only that, rarely results in good images.

It's one thing to fill the frame. You still need some sort of intimacy with your subject.
